So many wonderful things about this property and our stay!! If the spa is of interest to you.... IT'S PHENOMENAL! Loved the pool area, tons of very nice lounge chairs and cabanas, beach entry pool along with small kiddie pool and small ish hot tub.Nice music and drinks/eats served pool side. The fire pits were a nice touch in the evenings as well. The concierge so kindly offers beach chairs and towels and umbrellas for personal use and even offers a shuttle to a butlered beach up the way!!! Definitely a luxury stay and can't wait to come back. We've been coming to Carlsbad for a long time and this may be our new home away from home.

Everything about our stay at Cape Rey was outstanding. The customer service was exceptional during our entire stay. The shuttle to the beach was a very cool perk & having the restaurant at the hotel was super convenient for our family with little ones. The pool area is very nice and kept in great condition with showers easily accessible. We had a great stay and can’t wait to go back!

We ended up staying at the last minute after evacuating from our originally booked hotel because of forest fires. Bar was nice but closed pretty early. Big comfy rooms, food in restaurant was excellent. Gym was well equipped, way better than we would expect from a resort gym.

The friendly staff was terrific. Was upgraded to another room when another guest created noise throughout the night. No questions asked. The breakfast is a great value. The room was great with sound proof sliding glass doors. Beds were comfortable and pillows so nice.

Our room was just what we wanted, a good view of the ocean. Because of health issues we knew we would be staying in our room and take all our meals in house. Our room had enough space to move around but not too much.
